A Safer Church
Our commitment to safeguarding
The Well Community Church is committed to the safeguarding, care and nurture of everyone within our community. In Matthew 20:25-26. Jesus called his disciples together and said, “You’ve observed how godless rulers throw their weight around, how quickly a little power goes to their heads. It’s not going to be that way with you. Whoever wants to be great must become a servant.” Matt 20:25-26 The Message)
As Christians we know that our role is to honour and serve the people in our sphere of influence. We are grieved anytime we hear stories about people in positions of authority abusing their positions to serve selfish or sinful ends.
At The Well we want to take every possible step to create a safe and welcoming environment for your whole family to experience Jesus and take your next step toward Him.
THEREFORE WE WILL:
✔️ Promote a safe environment and culture
✔️ Safely recruit and support all those with any responsibility related to children, youth and vulnerable adults within the Church through our Plan to Protect Policy. To request a copy of our Plan to Protect policy click here.
✔️ Respond promptly and confidentially to every safeguarding concern or allegation
✔️ Care for victims/survivors of abuse and other affected persons
✔️ Care for those who are the subject of concerns or allegations of abuse and other affected persons
✔️ Respond to those that may pose a present risk to others
