Tithing

When you tithe, you’re trusting God with your finances.

Tithing is a biblical principle. God calls us to give the first 10% of our income back to Him. We’ve seen God provide abundantly in our church, and we know He will provide abundantly for you and your family when you put Him first in your finances. In fact, it’s the one area in the Bible where God tells you to test Him.

“Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. Test me in this,” says the Lord Almighty, “and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that there will not be room enough to store it.”

It’s impossible to out-give God, but you’ll never regret trying.

God gives us good things we don’t deserve and could never earn, like grace and forgiveness. He gave the ultimate gift, His son, for our sins. When you hear us talk about irrational generosity, ​​that’s what we mean. God created you with a generous spirit. We want to help you embrace it by giving beyond your tithe with an offering to one of these causes.

Accountability and integrity are vitally important in every aspect of our church, and it’s no different when it comes to finances. We will always honour your gifts with faithful stewardship, ethical business practices, and transparency so that The Well remains beyond reproach.

The Well is under the authority of Gateway Church in Caledonia. We adhere to high standards of biblical accountability, board governance, financial transparency, integrity in fundraising, and proper use of charitable resources. You are always welcome to contact us with general questions about our financial practices.

In Malachi 3:10, God tells us to bring the tithe, which is 10% of our income, to Him. Later, Jesus affirms this in the New Testament.

When you give to The Well, God does something amazing. He multiplies your gifts and does more with it than any of us could ask or imagine. Your tithe becomes part of God’s plan to resource the local church to do His work here on earth. And He also allows you to be a part of all He is doing in your community and around the world through local and global missions.

While you can give in person on Sunday mornings, the easiest and best way to give is through our online giving platform. You can make a gift, schedule your giving, and review your giving history all in one place.

Yes! The Well has three areas for giving above your regular tithe through an offering:

  • District Ministries
    This fund helps support multiple needs and fresh initiatives of churches and members in our Alliance district.
  • Global Missions
    This fund allows Alliance workers to travel around the globe engaging in everything from building the local church to increasing educational opportunities, from helping people gain access to clean water to advocating for the marginalized.
  • Compassion
    This fund allows us to bless people and respond to needs in our community above and beyond our annual budget.
