Our mission is to help people take their next step toward Jesus.
What is the next step YOU need to take?
⬇︎
We want to help you take the most important step in your life!
The key to a NEW LIFE and JOY is found in the person of Jesus. Jesus is unique. There is no one in history like him.
His Uniqueness
Jesus is the DIVINE Son of God. The Bible describes Jesus as the radiance of God’s glory and the exact representation of God’s being.
“Anyone who has seen me has seen the Father.” John 14:9
“…all things have been created through him and for him.” Colossians 1:15-16
Jesus is DIVINE but was also fully HUMAN. He lived as people were designed to live, in an authentic relationship with God!
Everywhere Jesus went, broken people flocked to him.
His disciples gave up everything to spend time with him.
His female followers ignored the expectations of society to listen to him.
To this day, Jesus is still captivating the world!
His Mission
God loves the world.
Jesus is the way we can have a relationship with him.
The Bible tells us that everyone has sinned and deserves to be separated from God. However, despite all the wrong things we have done, God loves us and wants to have a relationship with us.
Jesus died on a cross to make a way for us, to pay the penalty for our sins. He then rose again, giving each of us the hope of eternal life.
“Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing.” Luke 23:34
“After he had provided purification for sins, he sat down at the right hand of the Majesty in heaven…” Hebrews 1:3
His Life
We can follow Jesus. His Spirit lives in us.
There’s only been one person capable of living the Christian life, and that person is JESUS.
Being a Christian is not about looking at Jesus and trying to do what he did. Rather, it is allowing him to live his life in you every day.
“I no longer live, but Christ lives in me.” Galatians 2:20
The moment you become a follower of Jesus, he comes to live within you through the Holy Spirit.
This is another gift from God that makes each day new!
Being a Christian is not about ‘thinking smarter’ or ‘trying harder,’ it is Jesus living his life in you.
We trust that Jesus has all of the love, peace and patience that we need & receive his ability for every opportunity.
“I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” Philippians 4:13
How do we respond to Jesus’ death and resurrection?
The Bible tells us that our relationship with God begins when we are saved by grace through faith.
Grace is simply a gift you don’t deserve. God offers us his forgiveness as a free gift.
However, like any gift, God’s grace must be received. By putting our faith in Jesus we trust that he will save us from sin & give us everlasting life.
“If you declare with your mouth, ‘Jesus is Lord,’ and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead you will be saved.” Romans 10:9
“I am the way, the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” Luke 23:34
To start your relationship with Jesus, pray the following:
If you would like to experience an awesome change in your life, you can pray this simple prayer of faith:
“Dear Jesus, thank you for making me and loving me, even when I’ve ignored you and gone my own way. I realize I need you in my life and I’m sorry for the sins I have committed. I ask you to forgive me. Thank you for dying on the cross for me. Please help me to understand it more. As much as I know how, I want to follow you from now on. Please come into my life and make me a new person inside. I accept your gift of salvation. I ask you to fill me with your Holy Spirit and please help me to grow now as a Christian.” Amen
If you made this commitment, please text DECIDED to 905-518-0168 or call us at 905-518-0168 and let us know that you made this exciting decision for Christ. We want to give you some resources that will help you!
Why be Baptized?
1. Because you want to follow the example of Jesus.
“At that time Jesus came from Nazareth and was baptized by John in the river.” Mark 1:9
2. Because Jesus commanded it.
“Jesus said, ‘Go then, to all people everywhere and make them my disciples, baptize them in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, and then teach them to obey everything I have commanded you.’” Matthew 28:19-20
3. Because it shows you are a believer.
“many of the Corinthians who heard Him believed and were baptized.” Acts 18:8
4. Because obeying Christ’s command shows you know Him.
“We know that we have come to know Him, if we obey His commands.” 1 John 2:3
The Meaning of Baptism
1. It is a symbol of Christ’s burial and resurrection.
“Christ died for our sins… He was buried… and He rose again.” 1 Corinthians 15:3,4
2. It is a symbol of your new life as a Christian.
“When someone becomes a Christian he becomes a brand new person inside. The old life has passed away and a new life has begun!” 2 Corinthians 5:17
“By our baptism then we were buried with Him and shared His death, in order that just as Christ was raised from the dead also we might live a new life!” Romans 6:4
Baptism does’t make you a believer; it shows that you already are one! Baptism doesn’t “save” you, only your faith in Christ does that. Baptism is like a wedding ring – it’s the outward symbol of the commitment you made in your heart.
“For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith… it’s the gift of God – not by works, so that no one can boast.” Ephesians 2:8,9
What does baptism look like at The Well?
1. Like Jesus was baptized – by being immersed in water.
“As soon as Jesus was baptized, He went up out to the water.” Matthew 3:16
2. Every baptism in the Bible was by immersion under water.
“then both Philip and the eunuch went down into the water and Philip baptized him. When they came up out of the water….” Acts 8:38,39
3. The word “Baptize” literally means, “to immerse or dip under water”.
4. It is the best way to picture a burial and resurrection.
Who should be baptized?
Every person who has made the decision to believe in Jesus should be baptized. The only requirement for baptism is belief in Christ!
“Those who believed and accepted His message were baptized.” Acts 2:41
“But when they believed Philip as he preached the Good News… and the name of Jesus Christ, they were baptized, both men and women.” Acts 8:12
“Simon himself believed and was baptized…” Acts 8:13
When should I get baptized?
As soon as you have believed! You shouldn’t delay.
“Those who believed… were baptized… that day!” Acts 2:41
“Then Philip began with the Scripture and told him the Good News about Jesus. As they traveled along the road, they came to some water, and the eunuch said, ‘Look here is water! Why shouldn’t I be baptized right now?’ Philip said, ‘If you believe with all your heart, you may.’ The official answered, ‘I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God.’ Then both Philip and the eunuch went down into the water and Philip baptized him.”Acts 8:36-39
What if I’ve already been baptized as an infant?
We recommend that you be baptized again if you were baptized as an infant.
This decision does not devalue any prior experience but simply reflects your desire to honour your parents decision and now choose to be baptized and follow Jesus yourself.
Can family be baptized together?
Yes! If each family member fully understands the meaning of baptism, and each one has personally placed his or her trust in Christ for salvation, we encourage families to be baptized at the same time.
Only children who are old enough to understand and believe in Christ can be baptized.
If you’d like to be baptized click the button below or text BAPTISM to 905-518-0168.
Faith is meant to be a family thing!
God entrusts us with the responsibility of bringing that child up in the ways of the Lord and establishing early in his/her life a foundation built upon Jesus Christ. It is this responsibility that causes us to think of child dedications as “family dedications.” We feel that the whole family unit needs to be lifted up to the Lord so that each member will be able to keep his or her commitment. Your involvement in family dedication is a pledge to God and the congregation that you are serious about the task that is ahead of you. As your church, our aim is to join you in this dedication and equip you as together we build spiritually healthy homes.
What does child dedication mean?
Dedications at The Well simply put are parents committing to partner with God as they raise children. Hannah is a perfect example. In 1 Samuel 1:11, 26-28, Hannah was weeping before the Lord and made a vow before Him “if you will give you maidservant a male child, then I will give him to the Lord all the days of his life…” God heard Hannah’s request and gave her a son named Samuel. Hannah kept her vow and set apart Samuel unto the Lord.
Child dedication is a pubic commitment that parents make before God, the church, and their family. The dedication service provides parents an opportunity to express publicly their desire to lead and spiritually nurture their children in cooperation with the Holy Spirit, so their children will develop a desire to know God and establish a personal relationship with Jesus. It is also a time for family and friends to show their support and intention to help parents with their commitment to their children. There is no “saving grace” attached to this ceremony. It is simple a statement of intent and desire.
What can I expect during a child dedication service?
During the dedication service, parents express commitments before God, their family, and the church, declaring their desire to raise their child in a God honouring way. Because parents are the key role models for their children, they have the primary role in the dedication service.
Family Dedication Commitment
Family dedications are open to parents who are able to answer “yes” to the following questions:
- Do you acknowledge your child as a gift from God?
- Do you desire to live a godly life before your child so that he or she will have an example to follow?
- Do you commit yourself to give your child opportunity to hear the gospel so that he or she might be able to have a personal relationship with Jesus?
- Do you commit yourself to raise your child in the instruction of the Lord?

We literally couldn’t do it without you!
Our church family runs on the efforts of people who joyfully make time to see the mission move forward. Jesus sacrificially served us, so we do the same for one another — it’s that simple. Are you passionate about helping people take their next step toward Jesus?
If you’re still not quite sure where the best fit is for you…
Just reach out here and a member of our team will be in touch.
We want to be a church our community actually needs.
The Well is passionate about serving others outside of the walls of our church building. We’re passionate about meeting needs in the places we live, work and play. That looks a little different for everyone. Sometimes that means partnering with a non-profit organization, other times it means pioneering a new initiative to bring hope to those who need it.
Right now, one of the most helpful things you can do is tell us where you are already serving or volunteering in the area. How can we help? Can other people from the The Well family come alongside you? Do you need additional resources?
You are invited to join us and learn the heartbeat of The Well as we help people take their next step toward Jesus!
As we continue to grow we will be offering an introduction to The Well a couple times per year. This introduction will help you get to know our mission, vision and values here at The Well, as well as topics such as salvation, communion, baptism, our statement of faith and denominational affiliation, giving and serving. There will also be an opportunity for Q&A.
