What Makes Us Who We Are
The Well began with a desire to create a safe place to explore Jesus and spiritual issues without the pressure of having to look, act or talk a certain way. The Well is a place where you can be yourself as you take your next step toward Jesus.

Encounter Acceptance
You are loved. Want to know what’s so good about the Good News? It’s that it’s good news for everybody. It meets us where we’re at and tells us who we are. Loved. We are all equal in the sight of God. His love for us is not based on who we are, but is completely based on who He is.At The Well, as you encounter Jesus, you will hear over and over again how much you’re loved. That is who you are. Loved.
Encounter Real People
You are not alone. At times it definitely feels that way though, doesn’t it? We all face similar life situations and struggles. Whether you are in the thick of it with young kids, are tired from long work hours and the pressure to keep pushing, deal daily with the pain of loss and loneliness, or whatever unique struggle you may be facing… you are not alone. The Well is a place where you will encounter real people of all ages who face the same things. We do not try to hide behind a charade of perfection. We are all broken but our story doesn’t end there. Remember that you’re not alone.
Encounter Community
We are made for relationship. No matter who you are or where you’re coming from we want to connect with you and get to know you.We also want to connect you with others and connect with our neighbours. Our desire is to help make Binbrook the best community to live in! We need one another and together we can bring hope to our community, our nation and the world.
Encounter Generosity
Generosity doesn’t mean merely being generous with what we have, but with who we are. We desire to be radically generous with our time, our possessions, our talents and gifts. We hope an attitude of generosity will spread beyond the walls of our church and overflow into our community. Our hope is that The Well will be a place you encounter radical generosity which helps inspire your own generosity to a world that desperately needs what you have to offer.
Encounter Rest
We are committed to being a place of rest. Life is busy and we all carry the weight of demands and expectations. We want to be a community that invites you to step off the treadmill of life so that you can recharge, refocus, and be present to enjoy life. We want to learn together how to posture ourselves and our families in such a way that we are able to receive the real rest that Jesus offers. Instead of allowing striving, busyness and doing to drive our days, we can be motivated from a place being. A place of peace and rest. The Well is a place to encounter rest.

Our Journey to The Well
The idea to plant a new church in Binbrook initially felt like a huge and crazy undertaking. At the same time, it is a calling that God made so undeniably clear.
Kevin and Amanda had been part of a small group that was meeting in Binbrook in 2015. As Kevin finished school and they began seeking where God was leading them next, Binbrook continually came up in their hearts. Once they said yes to this call, God began to open up every door that needed to open. They connected with Gateway Church in Caledonia who became their sponsor church and God began to bring a group of people together who were passionate about this community and seeing a new church planted here.
Over the course of a year and a half, they began meeting together in a living room on Sunday evenings and seeking God together. They continually asked the questions, how can we serve and love the community of Binbrook and how do we do that in the context of a church? So many are jaded with the church and the idea of God. So many are hurting. We desperately need hope. We need Him. And yet, church is so often the last place we look for help because people don’t often associate it with that.
The imagery of Jesus with the woman at the well in John chapter 4 continued to come up in Kevin’s mind as he would pray. The idea that God meets us right where we are, in all of our mess, brokenness, sin, and shame…this is radical love. As Jesus met with the woman at the well, an incredible encounter takes place.
We don’t go to church so that we can be good for God. We go because we believe that God is good, and that our Good and perfect God loves us, just as we are. And so we are compelled to worship Him, to get to know Him intimately, to ask Him the hard questions we wrestle with in our lives. We’re desperate for the living water He offers. It’s not that we can’t connect with Him or do these things on our own. But we believe God wants more for us and that seeking Him in the context of community is His idea. He did life together with His 12 disciples. They travelled together, ate together, prayed together, cried together, wrestled together, laughed together, sought the Father together. Church is so much more than a religious place.
And so was birthed The Well Community Church.
